Hi all,
Charlie mentioned over the break that there was a potential wall dive at Loch Lomond that might be interesting.
Does anyone know more about this and is anyone else interested? I've done a google search but found nothing. Perhaps it is a pointless exercise but I'm nontheless intrigued.
Any takers?

Thanks Charlie. It looks like it might be a bit technical for newly qualified divers (like me). I suppose it depends on what you can see at 25m with a torch. Any thoughts?
The water color and light sound a bit like our dive on Saturday in Loch Lubnaig. We had to break out the torches at around 10m too. It wasn't terrible though.

Yeah, it's not a dive to be taken lightly. The bottom of the wall is at 90m with the slope going to 120m, so buoyancy problems could end up with the dive getting "interesting".
Apparently there's sod all to see. People pretty much do it so that they can say they've dived it if you know what I mean. It's called "The Black Wall" and is meant to be akin to diving in tea!
I still fancy doing it sometime though! _________________ skål charlie
At least we can say that interesting isn't boring. It would be nice to do it for the bragging rights but that's not a good enough reason to be silly about it.

But for an interesting dip in loch lomand turn right at Tarbet and head up the road till you come to a small island close to the shore park on the space on the left just before the island. dive round the island and along the shore. I saw small trout and eels. Bonus was my kit was cleaner than it ever had been.
I did/attempted an extremely short dive in a local resevoir, it was 4M deep, I couldn't see my own hands qith a torch.............dive aborted, was basicaly like a watery mud
This is also a fun river to Kayak down too! It would be interesting to explore from an underwater perspective. Anyone up for being my buddy for this dive next year? ? ?
