Sunday's trip was errr interesting!!! Went to the 29 steps just along form Finnart. Charlie and Laura had a very nice little dive. Sarah and I on the other hand, well where should I begin. First off I was under weighted so received some extra weight (cheers Charlie). Got down everything going well. Followed some nice cylinders down to a little platform that Aquatron had sunk for training then continued on down to 23m to have a little look around before coming up a bit in search of the wreck of a little boat that Charlie and Laura managed to find 3 times on their dive! Alas we did not find it. However my left foot started to feel light while finning along and i looked down, to my horror my fin was coming off. I signaled to my buddy that i had a problem with my fin and she nicely recovered it for me. While refitting my fin I started to take off to the surface so my buddy kindly pinned me to the sea bed as I reattached my fin all done and back under control we continued with our dive. But I was not happy as I was having trouble dumping air from my suit and being slightly under weighted at the same time are not a good combination. Anyway I decided to end our dive early and head to the surface. I signaled to my buddy and up we started to go. Though I was still having trouble dumping and started to accend rather faster that I would have liked as I could not dump my air. Thinking about it now I should have just pulled at my neck seal and got a bit wet. Hind sight is a marvelous thing but this solution did not occur to me so mister BDO I'm afraid I had a rather rapid accent from about 12/14m to the surface. Once on the surface I had no ill effects and my buddy was fine as well. Apart from that we all had a nice day. See photo's below. Erika

Nice photos!
We live & learn! I've experienced uncontrolled ascending in the past & it's not a pleasant experience. I too wasn't quick enough to pull my neck seal at that time.
More recently, when I was under-weighted at the end of a dive with Gus & we had incurred deco time, I had no reservation in pulling my neck seal away. A rush of freezing water entered my under-suit & immediately countered any positive buoyancy. We completed our deco (plus extra) & although I was shivering afterwards, we were both fine. Lesson learnt. Deal with one problem at a time. It's when multiple problems pile up that it can become very nasty underwater.
Plan the dive & dive the plan!
Laura & I enjoyed our dive. Wreck @ 10m --> platform @ 9m --> wreck (again) --> remains of navigational structure (Dolphin) @ 15m --> anemone city @ 12m --> wreck (yet again) --> platform --> line of old cylinders --> exit @ entry point... sorted.
Max depth 15.2m
Dive time 39min
Water temp 7.6-9.2°C
During the dive, I made it to 100 hours logged underwater... yippee!!
