Conger Alley 16th DecMyself and Mr Robertson took some time out of doing nothing to go for a lovely, but fecking freezing days diving on Loch Long. Planned to go to caves and meet Beryl but as we couldnt be arsed getting up any earlier, we were beaten to it by some old people who took up all the parking!!
so conger it was... relatively busy, met a couple of people from the conger alley forum and got 2 dives in. my computer said 11 degrees water temp, trust me, my computer is a liar!! 2 half an hour dives, the first outings for my new suit, undersuit and camera, and wee chuffed with all 3!!
we got back about 4.30, its not nearly 8.30, and honestly, i'm still shivering!! its the coldest i've ever been on a diving day!! few others there decided not to bother with a 2nd dive, and i can see why!!

Pool TrainingHi Scotty
Are you planning any more training sessions in the pool before Christmas ? I want to get some training with my drysuit so that I can hopefully get some diving done over the next few weeks while I'm off (although, reading your report, it might be better waiting until it's warmer  ). Anyway, let me know

there won't be any training this week...but maybe soon in the new yr, depending on instructor availability.

Sounds like a good trip... shame you missed Beryl the seal who has resumed residence at the Caves apparently. Who did you meet from CA.com?

11 C... you're such a light weight... I was swimming in an outside pool tonight... I jest not!  Air temp was -4 C; fortunately water temp was 27 C.  Visibilty above the water was 5m due to the clouds of vapour; when I ducked my head under water I could see the the full 25m length to see if the lane was clear to swim in... bizarre in the extreme! 
Worst bit was running between the (inside) changing room & the pool.

yeh i heard that beryl was back, definetely get up to see her at some point soon!!
met Dive Granny, dont actually know her real name, but we were walking along the road in our kit and she says "u must be the boys from stirling", apart from the 14 year old trainee one group had with them, we were the youngest there by a good 10-15 years!!
i'll put the fotos up on bebo/facebook when i can be arsed, only got a few as a)the vis was a bit poor and b) it took me a while to get used to it!!

It was the coldest dive in the whole world, no questions asked, possibly because Scotty hid my undersuit.

No, Scott hid it, and then told me that the water was 30 degrees, so I htought, oh, ok, let's go.
