i dont think its a flounder if thats any use?? i should know, i killed about 30 of the buggers by hand not long ago!! i'm gona be witty and suggest that its a Norwegian TopKnot...but i'm fairly sure its wrong.
worst case scenario, put it in the logbook as "cool flattie", thats what i do!!

hello,
i like the lemon sole option but i'd like to bring the dab, Limanda limanda, into the ring. apparently they are hard to distingish between but the lateral line is the clincher and yours seems to be failrly curvy.
No way i could say for sure though if its bigger than 50cm and on or near rocks then its a fair chance its a lemon sole, according to Naylor.
my mothers favourite fish to eat so if you see one again bag it.

unless you have cleverly flipped the picture and made it back to front then its defo not a topknot, they are left hand sided (mouth to the left looking up the fish), or as naylor puts it 'both eyes have ended up on what was orinally the left hand side of the young fish.'
your fish is right hand sided like nearly all other flatfish.
your ca guy isnt correct in my opinion.
cheers
