in the fjords

It's been nice to read on here about all of the recent SUSAC trips: sounds like you've all been having some fun.

After a few dry weeks, I got wet in Norge again  Shocked

I'd taken the opportunity to get some work done on my suit & bought a new mega warm hood... both were well worth the effort. I got a pee zip fitted to the suit & while it was in at Otter, they shortened the legs & replaced the boots. So with the combination of that & the previously fitted braces, it actually fits me now. Wish I'd got it done years ago!

After my break, the contrast has been amazing this week. So much life all of a sudden. However the viz has deteriorated above 10m depth with the growth of algae. At some extreme moments it got as low as 7m!

Anyway, saw lots of great critters. Cuckoo wrasse, big sea cucumbers, the biggest spider crab I've ever spotted (30cm+ across), butterfish, dragonets etc etc. What a contrast from the winter which was pristine viz-wise but low on life. However, the water is still cold at depth: 4C at 35m today but 12C during the safety stops.

wow great photos charlie! I had to have changes made to my suit too i had about half a foot chopped off the legs and tiny size boots fitted. It does make all the difference!
