Lochaline / Farnes / other cool placesHowdy, as is customary on every dive trip, I get all excited and start planning big dive weekends to other interesting/cool/new places.
I have heard good things about Loachaline Dive Centre, we could do a weekend up there doing the Sound of Mull or whatever.
Farnes - did it last year, was mega successful, didnt cost that much, brilliant. i know theres been talk of doing it again this year, could maybe make a weekend of it, either 2 days at Farnes or one day there then 2nd day at St Abbs (loads of charter boats available).
Any other ideas?? I didnt get as much diving in last year as id hoped so would quite like to make the most of this summer!! I'm up for anything (dive wise  ) so all ideas welcome!!

I would highly recommend Lochaline: some fantastic diving in the Sound of Mull for reasonably competent divers. The wrecks & walls are outstanding. Oh... I am jealous!

Hello, Right,
I have had e-mails back from both, and both have availability.
Lochaline say that they have availablility
- from the 1st-6th June for 6 divers on the boat
- the 20th- 27th June for 6 on the boat and accommodation
- and July 11th & 12th for 12 on the boat with accommodation in the dive lodge
Prices for the boat are £32.50 per head for 2 dives a day (based on 12 people on the boat)
The Farnes bloke was more vague, he said that he had space in July but to phone and sort it out (dunno about price but last year it was about £50 for boat and accomodation).
Personally i think it would be good to Lochaline on the 11th and 12th July with 12, then after that we can sort out the farnes and go later in the summer.
For 12 of us, it would cost £90 for 4 boat dives and accommodation for the weekend. so call it around £110 for the weekend plus beer money. Or if we were to only have the boat for one day, £57.50 for the boat and accommodation.
Any takers for that one or would folk prefer the Farnes???

sure, that's fine by me. but also i just realised that it would be more expensive than i said because i only accounted for one night's accommodation, but we'd need the night before too.
That would make it closer to £140, but i'm happy if others are

Hello,
I've got an e-mail back from the woman now, she said that because the accommodation has changed the price has changed too. funny that!
It's no longer £25 a night, it's now £16 a night, making the cost for the whole trip £97. and there is room for everyone now.
Also i was going to give it a few more days for folk from our club to sign up before sending details onto other clubs (strathclyde etc.)
anyone else in?
