I took a PADI guy (Qualified this year in Lanzarote) for his first 2 Scottish open water dives hee he.
Really good shallow dives of only 10m each time, saw rakes of stuff,three hundred million pipefish, many with eggs, sea squirts(lightbulb), corkwing wrasse, dalhia anemomes, schools of saithe and some other random ones i dont know the name of, big kelp forests, velvetr swimmers, investigatiing fishermans creels, squid eggs!!!!! no squid though.

p.s swell was a bitch on the second dive

Wow, sounds fantastic! Gus and I were also diving in the North Sea at Weasel Loch, Eyemouth on Saturday (including Gus' 200th dive: blog to come by him I hope!). We too saw a multitude of breeding pipefish: must be that time of year for them to get it together.
Absolutely love your photos, especially the crab & anemone. Were those taken with your onboard flash or have you invested in a strobe? They are absolutely stunning (of professional standard).
Don't know if you have access to a photo editing package (e.g. Photoshop), but I thought I'd show you the kind of touching up that can be done. Just for demonstration, this is what I managed to do to your creel photie (hope you don't mind):

Yo yo charlie! A strobe eh? not a bad idea, but no, too expensive although I am seriously considering expanding to PADI this summer so as I can work abroad next year for the summer diving wise. All this standing at the side of a pool is becoming a tad tedious.
The flash was off for some some of the more scenic photos and on for the macro ones. I do have Photoshop, well a dodgy copy but Photoshop none the less. I have to say I am a dab hand with it but I currently lack the effort to bother with it. Are you thinking of investing in a strobe?

It is indeed charlie! Well actually I start next Tuesday, looking forward though. Its 1.5 weeks wages and it opens many doors so why not plus I get a cool sticker which is the real reason.
Im diving solid every weekend till i go back to uni now though so amybe a mid semester trip oop north och I dunno
