School TripAlso when I was down at the SU office today Gillian said that a local primary school was doing a project on the ocean and wondered if anyone could take some kit down and talk them through it.
They were hoping this could happen maybe in the 2nd week of october.
I was thinking maybe send Ben and Joe down to talk to them and demonstrate the kit.
If anyone else is remotely interested put your name down and I'll pass along the details.

Are you looking at the 2nd week as being the week starting 6th October ? If so I could help on the Monday or Tuesday if needed. If it is the following week I can't help as I'm away. We could also put together a powerpoint presentation with photographs of some of the stuff that you guys have seen below the waves as well so that they get some idea of what lives in the sea around their country. I'm sure that between us we have a sh1t load of photos of stuff that they probably don't even know exist. I have a PC projector that I can lend if you want.
Let me know either way

Brownie points, brownie points........
We help the kids with their project and the SU are BOUND to be open to our request to have a freebie try-dive day for our newbies. They scratch our back, etc, etc. Makes them look good in the eyes of the community and they only need to allow us access to a pool that is already heated, full of water, staffed, and so on, so what have they got to lose ?? It's already covered so costs them nothing !
It could also be a point that can be raised at the meeting on Friday by showing that SUSAC are community minded and are prepared to work with the SU to promote the Uni
Negotiation is my business.........

it was fun, kids aren't the most clever of people though. they don't know how to ask questions which is a massive pain in the balls. Ben dealt with it well though
