Yay for honda(and a claw hammer) got there and back no probs. Enjoyed the diving emensly, sorry I had to run off sarah and dot befor you surfaced, as it was I wasn't back home till half ten All in All, well worth the trip. When my finances recover will see about coming out on another trip if thats ok?
Dot :- great to see you again, I'd beg you to train me for 2nd class, but I'm too far away to manage to do all the training. apart from being allowed to go to extra depth I'm not sure what I would do with it anyways.
Frazer :- nice to meet u, enjoy the surfing. I recon its one of the scaryest n fun sports Ive tried, definatly a good death potential. Shame I was so crappy at it, tho I did manage to hang 5 a few times on my long board, n do kick backs on my bic popout
Charlie :- thanks for the dives, enjoyed the chance to go slow n use my camera. Not sure how the pics will come out. In case u were wondering why I was taking pictures of star fish, its coz the only ones you get around me are the size of your hand. I noticed the jellyfish stings wore off after about an hour it was completely gone, glad I'm not allergic. BTW it was good to see the clubs family orientated, might bring mine next time if they want a day out.

Yeah, the ScotSAC Solstice dive was a great success.
It was excellent that SUSAC were there. Big thanks to Mark for coming all of the way up: that's true dedication! Brilliant effort by Dot, Frazer & Sarah too.
I actually thoroughly enjoyed the diving even although the site doesn't have a great reputation for the quality of diving! I'm beginning to think that there's no such thing as "a bad dive site". I feel a blog coming on...
My photos weren't very good from the dives unfortunately. Here's one of Mark which is about the only decent one I have:
Would be excellent if Mark could come up for more diving with us. If you fancy bringing the family that would be great. As you gathered, we bring our weans along to most of our diving weekends. The other SUSAC members are very kind in allowing us to go to sites that are child-friendly. Some of the sites aren't that great for the kids, e.g. Conger Alley due to the fast dangerous road, but there are quite a few sites that we go to where the kids are pretty safe & they always have lots of fun playing in rock pools etc.
Sarah & I will probably be diving in Capernwray at some time in the summer as her parents live near Settle and we have some vouchers to use up. Maybe we could meet up for some quarry diving? Alternatively, I'm also be keen to do some exploration at Dorothea if you fancied going some weekend?

Diving NW england n north wales
Ive got a voucher for capenwray too so can do that. Also up for diving dorothea, been there once befor. Its a monster of a quarry, absolutely huge! I'm just in the act of placing my photos in a zip file and adding em to web site, will check back later when Ive added em.I'm in the middle of trying to investigate dive sites on anglesey, but so far the only reliable dive sites been trefor pier. Sooner or later I will get the hang of weird weather in north wales(only been trying for 6 years)

here goes....

if you click on the links n open up the zip files they contain a few photos of various.
The one for the solstice dive has some of what we saw plus a couple of charlie, plus the one charlie took of me. Mine are a bit foggy as vis was low, shot with cheap 35mm sea n sea MX5. trefor ones shot with £6 camera from lidl, the camera just doesn't do the water quality justice. hey I even dug out a few of shirly plant ex BDO stir uni club

Ah, nice. Last time I was there the vis was all but nil. Sam and I had to hold on to each other to keep from getting separated. Thank god for Sam's fluorescent orange kit.

Viz was good on the reef. Best to keep away from the silty bay when it's busy.
