well the Scily Iles are practically Plymouth are they not? 30 miles off the coast of Cornwall or there abouts? Have I got the right ones? haha - advanced higher geography indeed!

Hey Y'all,

No making me jealous now! I'm still holding out hopes for Mendocino, CA so I suppose I can't complain too loudly. I'd also like to dive Monterey but that's a bit harder to get to. They do have the aquarium there and I have a bunch of friends nearby (I was born there). We'll see. Fingers crossed!

Here's a quote from Scuba Diving mag on CA diving:

At the northern end of the state, divers hit the chilly waters all along the rocky shoreline; one of the most popular spots is the picturesque town of Mendocino. Mid-state divers flock to Monterey, renowned for its lush and mysterious kelp forests and scenic coves. To the south are the Channel Islands, off Santa Barbara, a dramatic island chain that features myriad pinnacles and swarms of sea lions and seals. Still farther south are dive sites around Orange County and the L.A. area, with Palos Verde and Redondo Beach being two favorites. And at California's southern edge, San Diego offers a fleet of wrecks that, in the 10 years since most of them were sunk, have made this border city a must-dive destination.

Never one to be pedantic, but surely it is 'Maxwell and I' ? And why on earth would you want to be hitting Joseph? Is that why they call her Smackswell?

I'm sure Plymouth can't wait for you guys to arrive!

If there is no summer overseas holiday (apart from Clan McGurk and their Mull, Coll and Tiree trip!) is there sufficient interest in club members taking a trip down here? I have some contacts with combined boat and B&B offers? I could maybe make enquiries if I was to get numbers of interested peoples?

There are some amazing dive sites round here, not just rusting hunks of metal (hiya shug!) but reefs, wall dives etc......
Oh, and if you are nice to me, I could arrange a free chamber orientation dive at the DDRC and a tour of the facilities (normally costs.....wait for it........£137 ! ouch)

Let me know!
