Hi all,
I've come into some cash recently and have also come across a nice deal on some dive kit (roughly 30-40% off). However, while it looks good and has some pretty features, I want to make sure I'm not letting myself in for a headache. The whole set is made by IST proline. I'm just looking at getting a BCD and regs at this point.
The BCD is the J610 Super model. It looks pretty and has some quick release weight pouches, etc. Not much storage beyond the two main pockets though
The regs include first stage, console (GP-500), Octopus and adjustable reg. (I didn't get the exact model for the first stage and regs)
The website is here: http://www.istsports.com/product/product-list.asp?mastockPa=HARDWARES
Has anyone run across any issues with the IST? The salesman said that they have a good customer service program and there's a 1 year no-questions-asked return policy.

| i've not heard anything bad about IST. the kit looks good and as long as your willing to pay the money then i see nothing wrong with it. bottom line with kit is that you;re happy with it! |

hey max,
i checked out your IST website it's not a company i have heard of but then there are probably quite a few that i've not heard of as well as this one. my only coment is i'm not to sure how comfy the bcd would be to wear as it has a strange looking back plate, personally i prefer having a padded back plate next to me. apart from that all looks good.

Deep Blue Dive have a pretty descent sale on right now.....might be worth checking that out!?
How's everyone's diving going? Much happening lately?
I'm switched to being a warm water diver, but I'm doing more dives that way than if I stuck with yucky British water.
Hope all's well. |

Thanks for the advice guys! I went ahead and bought the kit. It's not too uncomfortable as the harness is hugely adjustable and so can be fit to just about anyone. I'm going to give it a try in the next few weeks because the local dive shop is having an easter egg dive at Lake Tahoe. It's fresh water but the vis is ~100 feet. Besides, I think we'll be looking for eggs anyway.
