Hi guys, just been reading about North Berwick diving

there are some excellent sounding sites, including the Bass Rock, the isle of May and Fidra (one of the smaller close to shore islands if I remember rightly from geography field trips many years ago).

There are also a few wrecks, but to be fair most are in deep(ish) water and not suitable for the less qualified or experienced perhaps.

Cracking sounding U-boat (sub) in 40 metres that is apparently still intact and has the periscope up! That sounds most awesome! Some at 17m, 24m and 30m.

http://www.divesafariscotland.com/divesites.htm

and the guy has a shop in North Berwick for spares and fills etc.

They have a hard boat with diver lift, can carry 12 divers up to 60 miles offshore (although why who knows!?)

Their pics are pretty cool and have quite a few of seals! They do seal trips to the Bass rock and I know that there are plenty of the little guys around.

However, all I can find out about them is that they are a diving school and therefore I don't know how easy it would be to hire their boat perhaps. But I definately think it is worth checking out, it's only 15 miles south of Edinburgh and I personally would love to do some diving there, if only Iwere able to come up at the time.

Something new?

oh, just found more people operating out of North Berwick. But not posting it all as I'm bored already but if you are interested then give me a shout.

Glad to see Sports Union stuff is on it's way to being solved. Might mean we can join club next session!

Good stuff. Mr. Green

Saz & I are booked on a trip to Bass Rock + Craigleith (another island) next month. We're going with Gary of Dive Safari (the boat's diver lift will be most welcome) Exclamation We'll let you know how it goes.

A pal of mine organised a trip to U74 U-boat off Dunbar on Sunday (It was originally thought to be U77 hence the mistake on the Dive Safari web site). It's in 45m so is a bit deep for our qualifications: deco time ramps up quickly at that depth. A great video of the dive can be seen here.

There are also other wrecks on that coast that would be diveable for us: e.g. The Glanmire. I'd like to dive some of them, give me a shout if you & cheeky are interested.
